Prelude is the official conference experience by Slim Magazine HQ — a gathering designed to spark meaningful conversations, elevate creative standards, and build structure within the creative industry.
It is the starting point of a larger vision: bringing together the minds shaping fashion, beauty, photography, media, and creative business to learn, connect, and grow with intention.
Prelude is where ideas are challenged, perspectives are expanded, and the future of the creative industry is discussed openly and honestly.
Prelude is created for:
Fashion designers building intentional brands
Photographers & visual storytellers refining their craft and positioning
Beauty professionals seeking structure and growth
Models & creatives who want to move from talent to professionalism
Creative entrepreneurs ready to build sustainable, respected businesses
Entrepreneurs looking to understand, collaborate with, and grow within the creative industry
Prelude is not just another creative event. It is a conversation platform.
Through curated panel sessions, industry discussions, and intentional networking, we address real challenges in the creative space — from pricing and professionalism to collaboration, visibility, and long-term growth.
It is where creativity meets clarity, and talent meets direction.
Slim Magazine created Prelude to help shift the culture of the creative industry — from hustle and survival to structure, excellence, and sustainable success.
Because talent alone is not enough.
The industry needs informed creatives, strong networks, and higher standards.
Prelude is the beginning of that shift.
The very first edition of Prelude was held on June 1st, 2025 in Jos, Nigeria, marking the beginning of a powerful new chapter for the creative community.
With over 100 creatives in attendance, the event brought together designers, photographers, beauty professionals, models, and entrepreneurs for a day of learning, connection, and honest industry conversations.
Through engaging panel sessions, shared experiences, and open discussions, Prelude addressed real challenges within the creative space — from pricing and professionalism to collaboration, growth, and long-term sustainability. It created a rare environment where creatives could speak freely, learn from one another, and begin to see their work not just as passion, but as structured, valuable careers.
More than just a conference, the first Prelude became a meeting point for visionaries who believe the creative industry can — and should — operate at a higher standard.
It set the tone for what Prelude represents: Clarity. Community. Growth.
